A Global Feast: International College Celebrates Diversity at Annual Potluck

The spirit of international unity was on full display this past Wednesday, February 4th, as the International College (ICOSIAM) hosted its highly anticipated annual Potluck Party. The event transformed the campus into a vibrant hub of culture, aroma, and community, bringing together approximately 100 students, faculty, and guests.

A Table Without Borders

The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the food. With dishes representing 16 different countries, the buffet offered a literal taste of the world. Participants had the rare opportunity to sample authentic flavors from:

  • South & Central Asia: India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Iran.

  • Southeast Asia: Thailand and Myanmar.

  • East Asia: China.

  • Africa: Nigeria and Morocco.

  • Europe & West: USA, France, and Germany.

From spicy curries and savory dumplings to classic Western favorites, the variety showcased the incredible diversity that defines our student body.


Distinguished Guests

The celebration was graced by the presence of university leadership, underscoring the importance of cultural exchange at Siam University. We were honored to welcome:

  • The President of Siam University, who shared words of encouragement regarding the university’s global vision.

  • The Dean of ICOSIAM, who joined students in tasting the various cuisines and celebrating the hard work of the organizers.

More Than Just Food

Beyond the spices and recipes, the Potluck served as a platform for students to share their heritage and build friendships outside the classroom. As the President noted during the event, “Food is the universal language that brings us all to the same table.”

Dean and ICOSIAM team thanks organizers of this great work, Aj.Sabbir Hossain, as Students Club Key mentor and all student club management, mentors for Dancing, Music, and photograpic societies, faculties and all students, and extends a warm thank you to everyone who cooked, shared, and participated in making this event a massive success. We are already looking forward to what next year’s menu will bring!
