Soft Opening of the Sky Lounge

Soft opening of the Sky Lounge under ICOSIAM’s management happened on 3rd August, 2024. President of Siam University, Dr.Pornchai Mongkhonvanit inaugurated the sky lounge. Assistant President Dr.Cho Je Cheol and Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr.Kanjana Mahattanatawee joined this special  soft opening session to witness the event. Dr.Duminda Jayaranjan, Dean of International College explained about how this “Sky-Lounge area” to be utilized, and it will be mainly a training venue for students and stakeholders of “Hospitality and Tourism Management program (HTM)” under ICOSIAM.

In the first training session, students who  study first semester of HTM were handled all operations from kitchen to serve the participants. The student group were selected  from the “Dream and Idea generation class”, which is offered under new general education module of Siam University. Lecturers, Dr.Khwanchol Kampan Ninalaor, Ajarn Katayoun Ghazaei and Ajarn Thanyachanok Ongkong  conducted first training sessions for this group of students with student team leader Ms. Su Myat Yadanar, and team members, Shwe Yi, Htar, Thiha, Jimmy, Jack, Su Yee, Shine, and Aung Kaung. Training sessions for this group will continue every Saturday’s from 10.00 – 15.00 while other students will be trained parallel.  Sky Lounge will be opened for university stakeholders soon to enjoy food and drinks.

Our aim is to produce well trained  undergraduates for the industry as well as to initiate start-ups in the region through our practical teaching sessions and creating a venue for new ideas. Currently, ICOSIAM offers Bachelor of Business Administration program with two concentrations (International Business , and Hospitality & Tourism Management).

Also, I convey my thanks to ICOSIAM team who participated in this event and helped us in various ways to make this event. ICOSIAM student-club (SUICSC) team lead students’ activities and their participation to this event is appreciated  and Sky Lounge will be the venue for many coming events for students.

3 August, 2024 is a milestone of ICOSIAM’s history and I convey my special thanks to Mr.President, Dr.Pornchai Mongkhonvanit for his valuable guidance and continuous support given to re-open the kitchen and start practice sessions for HTM students from their first year in the university.
